I believe that prevention of home maintenance problems in the first place is the least expensive repair to be had. I am making my experience available to aide you in preventing expensive repairs and to help you make a work list for the health of your home. A "Walk-thru" inspection runs $360 for a normal size home. I have saved new owners thousands of dollars in repair costs with my inspections.
Onsite inspections and Do- It-Yourself Program are now available.
I will come out to your site, home, or building and perform a "Walk-Thru" inspection with you. You may make notes as we go along. We will spend at least 2 hours going over your building from top to bottom. We will discuss problems that I see, and I will suggest solutions that you may choose to implement. We can set up a timetable and budget after the inspection or you may choose to do the work yourself and just have me back to see how you did. At that time, I will suggest any improvements or changes you need to make and will be available to answer your questions about how best to achieve your goals. A 1700 square foot Ranch style home generally runs $360. Prices may be higher depending on location and the size of your home.
I have developed a 210 point checklist for a Written Inspection. I will come out to your site, building or home and take all day to look over the property. The second day I sit down at the computer and write up a report based on my notes and photos of the day before. This is a concentrated look at all the systems and codes that make a building systems our first line of defense against the elements. You will be presented with a binder containing all my comments and assessments with photos where necessary. This type of inspection is $600 to $1000.
I will go through your project with you and cover the tools, materials and options available for you to accomplish your project yourself. This is frequently the best value for a DIY. You get the benefit of 30 years of banged thumbs, cut fingers and a raft of experience on my part, so you don't have to go there. I charge $75 per hour and can usually get the job done in less than 3 hours of my time. If you decide in the middle "This is not for me", I will be happy to complete it for you. Or, If there are things that you think you are good at or enjoy we can use you as the subcontractor. Example: Texture and Painting your new room addition.
My aim is to be flexible enough to let you have some fun too! BUT get the job done within our budget.
